Description
The Pantheon was built in 27 BC. by Marco Vipsanio Agrippa, Augustus’s son-in-law, and completed by the emperor Hadrian between 118 and 125 AD; it is composed of a circular structure called “rotunda” surmounted by the famous hemispherical dome intrados in Roman concrete with a large oculus at the apex that allows internal lighting. The height of the building is equal to its diameter, a feature that reflects the classic architectural criteria.
