Description

Original Murano glass candle holder processed using the prestigious Sbruffo technique with silver leaf.

The Sbruffo technique gives this candle holder its myriad of shades. At first, a large ball of glass is blown and moulded to create the base shape.
Then a series of molten blown glass in different colours is poured onto its surface.
Once cooled but not yet completely solidified, the external blown glass is broken, leaving a thin layer of coloured glass on the original base. Lastly, the whole thing is placed back into the oven to blend these new layers of coloured glass together.
